**Welcome to the Tavern! **

If you play TTRPGs, you already know the struggle: finding a table is harder than the boss fight.
Local groups fall apart, online posts get buried, and even playing with friends turns into an endless loop of “what day works for you?” Scheduling conflicts, location debates, and flaky planning stop so many people from ever getting to play — and everyone deserves a real shot at the hobby.

So I’m building Tavern — an all-in-one social platform for TTRPG players to find games, organize sessions, show off characters/campaigns, and connect through events + community-made content (UGC).

“But why Tavern? Discord and Reddit already exist.”

Totally fair — and they’re great general tools. But for actually getting a game off the ground, they often add friction:

• scheduling still lives in messy threads and side tools

• posts disappear fast and discovery is noisy

• local/in-person play is awkward to coordinate

• communities splinter across servers and channels

Tavern is purpose-built for long-term groups and real connections — the kind that TTRPGs create when you finally find your people.

Who am I?

I’m Semmy (I also go by philo online). I’m a Computer Science senior who loves building creative things. I found D&D about 4 years ago and it turned into something I genuinely wanted to help more people experience — so I’m building Tavern.

Tavern’s already been validated through community polling, and we’ve raised pre-seed funding through pitch competitions. Now it’s time to ship and iterate in public.

My goals for the next 30 days

I’ve hidden behind perfection for too long. For the next 30 days, I’m committing to finishing Tavern’s core experience and pushing a beta to iOS + Android. I’ll be logging progress here — wins, setbacks, lessons, all of it — so if you’re into building products or you just want Tavern to exist, follow along.
