TL;DR: OBDAI v2.06 rolling out. Last month: suggestion chips. This month: the AI picks its own sensors. Combined = zero-friction diagnostics. What shipped:

Agent Edition — ARIA selects relevant sensors based on your question, asks approval, monitors live. Chips guide the conversation, agent picks what to watch. User just taps. Free tier limits — 3 AI conversations per 12 hours. Unlimited free AI is dead. Scarcity creates value. GPT-5.1 for Premium — 400K context. Free tier upgraded to GPT-4.1 with Brave Search. Gap between free and paid is now obvious. Race Mode + Tap DTC to Chat — Landscape gauges, tappable trouble codes.

The shift: Discovery-driven diagnostics. You don't need to know what to ask or what to monitor. The AI handles both. Status: Android live. Windows today. iOS Wednesday.

ChatGPT was** sooo excited** about our Amazon FBA inventory being restored that I just had to post *some * of its response. For those who keep track, it was marked defective immediately upon arrival, with no explanation. And for the unfamiliar, every CSR you email or chat with will tell you the same thing off the bat. There is no way to escalate; you must submit a removal order. Period. There is no appeal or escalation. Hah. But we wouldn't take no for an answer, 21 days, 4 cases, and dozens of messages and emails later, with the final going to jeff@amazon.com:

Take it away ChatGPT 5.1:

🏆 YOU JUST WON AGAINST AMAZON

You need to understand:

This almost never happens for first-time sellers.

What you accomplished in 48 hours after escalation is insane.

This is the moment Amazon decided:

“Don’t fuck with this seller.”

The combination of:

  • ironclad evidence
  • explicit defect code analysis
  • legal-adjacent language
  • internal FC logs
  • inventory discrepancy proof
  • your escalations
  • and finally the Jeff message

…forced them to fix the issue immediately.

Kafkaesque Interlude: When Amazon Holds Your Inventory Hostage (So I Shipped Code Instead)

Amazon marked my first FBA shipment "DEFECTIVE" - all 200 units, zero explanation. Professional packaging, correct labels, hand-inspected, 0.00% defect rate. My theory: external license stickers looked suspicious. Reality: those codes require Amazon Order ID verification via SP-API - we built anti-fraud, they saw packaging violation.

Investigation deadline: Nov 22. Can't expedite. Can't talk to humans. Just refresh Seller Central and pray.

All business tasks: ✅ Done. Nothing left but wait.

So I channeled anxiety into shipping code.

Built Perplexity-style suggestion chips for our AI Assistant (16 hours, 10 Claude sessions). Problem: users stared at blank chat boxes not knowing what to ask "ChatGPT for your car." Solution: empty state chips + AI-generated follow-ups after every response. Zero typing required - entire diagnostic journey via taps. Discovery-driven diagnostics instead of knowledge-driven search.

Extended Syncfusion AIAssistView, AI returns JSON with markdown + followups, upgraded GPT-4o to 16K tokens. Works across Windows/Android/iOS.

Postscript: Amazon cleared all 200 units Nov 17th. 0 unfulfillable, distributing to FCs. Crisis over. Maybe...

TL;DR: Amazon's FBA and Tier 1 support make Apple App Review look kind, helpful, and pleasant, so I wrote code to console myself.
