🚀 Update: Ad Results & Competitive Traction

The Ad Run:

  • Spend: $50 CAD/day (US & English Canada) for 12 days.
  • Outcome: Landed 4 new active users.

Market Feedback:

🔹 Local Win: Planimo Displacement

  • Feedback: Users in my local area currently using Planimo are ready to switch immediately.
  • The Edge: Feedback confirms Woofix already offers more features than Planimo, making the migration a "no-brainer" for them.

🔹 Enterprise Growth: MoeGo Comparison

  • The Good: Demos with MoeGo users ($150+/mo) went great; they love the Woofix pricing.
  • The Gap: Identified a few "dealbreaker" features needed to trigger a full switch from MoeGo.

Current Focus: Building out those final MoeGo-killer features to unlock high-value accounts while onboarding the local Planimo users.

I’ve been leaving comments under Facebook posts where people ask for good grooming software. Since Woofix is the only free option, my comments usually get 5+ likes, while other software gets 1 like at most. That’s bringing in a few users organically, which is great.

A lot of those users stick around and use the app almost every day, which is a really good sign.

I’m launching my first Facebook ad campaign today to see how much it costs per lead.

I still need to step up on the sales side and actively reach out by email and SMS. I’ll also start reaching out to Mad Dogs clients soon with an email campaign and SMS.

Realistically, the best way to really get known when you’re starting out is by going to trade shows and talking directly to people.

I hate doing data export but it will get easier.

Anyone have good ideas on this? I need help brainstorming

I made some labels with specific dog breeds on them for Mad Dogs, and they sell much better. Dog owners really love customized products for their dogs.

For online stores, this isn’t an issue since everything can be made on demand and a delay is acceptable. But for physical locations like pet stores or grooming salons, it’s impossible to maintain a large inventory covering all dog breeds.

I’ve been brainstorming whether Woofix could offer breed-specific products at checkout when clients book appointments, since we already have the dog’s information (including breed). There’s usually a delay between booking an appointment and the actual visit, so it might be possible to produce these items on demand.

For example, when a client books online and buys a product at the same time, the grooming salon could automatically purchase the product and resell it to the client when they come in for their appointment.

Anyway, figuring out how to solve this inventory problem for small groomers could be a game changer. It would unlock a huge opportunity to sell customized products to pet owners, which is a massive market.

Maybe not having the full inventory available at a physical location would be fine if there were a few breed-specific samples. Customers could accept a delay and come back once the grooming salon has their breed-specific product ready.
